Charles Purdy
Charles Purdy is the managing editor of
the award-winning, internationally published magazine Macworld
(500,000 circulation), an industry leader. With his team,
he manages editorial content and helps shape the look and
feel of Macworld. An editorial professional, Charles
has written for several national magazines.
Purdys expertise is with the English
language and effective communication. He holds a Bachelors
degree in English literature, and has studied creative writing
and film at the graduate level. He's also a TOEFL-certified
English teacher; he has developed and taught university-level
English-graduate coursework in Budapest, Hungary. Here in
the United States, he leads popular editing classes for journalism
professionals, as well as seminars on business writing for
international corporations.
An etiquette expert, Purdy writes a nationally
published etiquette-advice column (under the pseudonym "Social
Grace") and is a regular guest of San Francisco's KFOG
Radio Morning Show, where he answers etiquette questions on-the-air.
His etiquette advice has appeared in The Wall Street Journal,
among other publications.
Purdy authored the book Urban
Etiquette: Marvelous Manners for the Modern Metropolis,
published by Wildcat Canyon Press in 2004. He is an in-demand
instructor on Business Etiquette and Effective Business Writing
