Joyce Maynard
Joyce Maynard first came to national attention
when she wrote a New York Times Magazine cover story
while an undergraduate student at Yale (she was a member of
the first class at Exeter to include women, and the second
class to admit women at Yale).
Since then, she has been a reporter and
columnist for The New York Times, and her columns
have been syndicated in over fifty newspapers nationally.
She has been a correspondent for CBS television and NPR radio.
Maynard has been featured in Newsweek, Forbes, and countless
other publications, and has appeared on Good Morning America,
the Today program, CNN, and Chris Matthews’
Hard Ball.
A best-selling author of eight books,
including the novel To Die For, which was made into a Hollywood
film (and in which she plays the role of Nicole Kidman’s
attorney). She recently published her fifth novel, The Cloud
Chamber, with Simon & Schuster.
In between her writing engagements, Maynard
is much in demand as a corporate speaker, offering her many
insights about life, communication, the creative process,
and the nature of work. She has entertained audiences all
over the world, including Nike executives, The Florida Bar
Association, and The Columbia School of Journalism.
